Het Strijkijzer wins Emporis Skyscraper Award Het Strijkijzer in The Hague, constructed by Corsmit Raadgevend Ingenieursbureau BV, is the 2007 recipient of the annual Emporis Skyscraper Award. The building was chosen by the jury for its elegant reinterpretation of classic high-rise architecture, its contextual approach to a limited site, and its efficient program for accommodating new entrants to the housing market.
Royal Haskoning among top 100 companies Staff at an international firm of consulting engineers are officially working for one of the best companies in the country. Royal Haskoning was listed as being among the top 100 UK companies, for the second year running, as voted for by its employees. The same league table placed the company 24th for what it does to protect the environment.

Royal Haskoning is FD Gazelle 2007 Royal Haskoning is one of the winners of the 'FD Gazelle Award 2007', due to the large increase in sales the past three years.
Honourable mention The result of the 2005 European Care Ideas Competition was announced during the Netherlands Board for Healthcare Institutions (CBZ) Annual Convention on 25 September. The design team from EGM Architecten, BM Managers van het Bouwproces, part of Royal Haskoning, and Lausanne Health & Hospitality Group (LH2) received an honourable mention for their ZorgeNLoos Living vision.
‘Eye of Dubai’ – winning concept Royal Haskoning The consortium “Out and About in Palm Deira”, which is made up of Royal Haskoning (as architects/urban planners), MVA consultancy (transport consultants), Systra (rail consultants) and Sogreah (maritime consultants), has won the design competition for an integrated transport master plan for Palm Deira in Dubai. The competition was organised jointly by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and developer Nakheel.

Winner ‘Beekhuizen Swimming Pool’ ideas competition Competition organized by Rheden local authority. Royal Haskoning submitted a design for a modern health resort with facilities such as baths, saunas, a beauty salon and a restaurant in an effort to do full justice to the brief
Best Paper Award Jaap-Jeroen Flikweert from Coastal & Rivers Division based in Peterborough was recently presented with the prestigious ‘Best Paper’ award at this year’s Defra Flood and Coastal Management Conference in York, England. Jaap’s paper, entitled ‘Residual Risk Revisited – Flood Incident Management in the Netherlands’ was co-written with Lisette Heuer from Coastal & Rivers Division in Holland.
CIWEM Young Members’ Award Joanna Eyquem, who is based in our Haywards Heath office, was recently presented with the Young Members’ Award by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) at the organisation’s annual dinner. Joanna’s paper, entitled ‘Using fluvial geomorphology to inform integrated river basin management’, focused in particular on a case study of the River Axe catchment.

VBKO final study award 2005 On a maritime engineering event in Amersfoort the VBKO awarded students Tony W. Huang and Gerard Verburg the 1st price for the best bachelor degree final study project. The subject of the study was the feasibility of a cruise terminal on Palm Island, Dubai. Tony and Gerard were supervised by Royal Haskoning

Isle of Wight Society Jo Mitchell Conservation Award For the Duver Seaview Coast Protection Scheme, Isle of Wight
Maxis wins NRW-incentive prize 2004 The Dutch Counsil of Shoppingcentres has awarded the incentive prize to the shoppingcentre Maxis in Muiden. Royal Haskoning has done the design and advisory work for this project.
Winner ‘ROC Horizon College Hoorn’ ideas competition Royal Haskoning Architects won the European architects selection for the ROC Horizon College Hoorn (The Netherlands). The building will be put into use in 2007. The plan’s motto is ‘contact, comfort, control’.
Responsible Care Prize 2004 The Association of the Dutch Chemicals Industry (VNCI) presented the Responsible Care Prize for 2004 to Sasol Servo. The company won the prize for the development of a ‘Product Stewardship Management Tool for Chemical Companies in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Sector’. Sasol Servo developed this system in cooperation with Royal Haskoning and Sachem Europe BV.
Winner ‘Landmark Footbridge Projects’ ideas competition In Maryport, Cumbria, Haskoning has been appointed to undertake a feasibility study for two pedestrian lifting bridges in the historic harbour. The quality of the submission document was rated as excellent by the Client, thanks to the efforts of Richard Shaw, Dave Bone and Syb van Breda. In Cambridgeshire, we have been instructed to produce an outline design and planning drawings for a landmark footbridge / cycleway that will form a Gateway to Huntingdon. Huntingdon District Council recommended Royal Haskoning to the Developer, Persimmon Homes, after seeing our entry for a footbridge design competition in Cambridge. This success is due to the efforts of Dave Bone, Syb van Breda and Annette Boot.
