Core values and policy

The definition of our core values and formulation of our code of conduct was the first step in shaping our policy with regard to corporate social responsibility. This was followed by the implementation of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code (Tabaksblat Code).
As strongly client focused company we pay much attention to the dialogue with external stakeholders about our concept of corporate social responsibility.

The internal dialogue with our employees is to internalise the core values and the code of conduct. The Annual Social Report is published every year. The booklet People’s Business is published every year. It explains Royal Haskoning’s mission, vision and strategy and also aspects of corporate culture and corporate social responsibility.

Additionally the management systems were adapted to the core values. Bases are the core values respect, integrity, openness and team spirit. In order to concretize the dilemmas from every day a number of “practice dilemmas” have been formulated to explain in what way we deal with such dilemmas. In case of questions or uncertainties our employees can contact the ‘compliance officer’, who was appointed in 2005.

The external dialogue is about being open with our environment and being prepared to answer justified questions from this environment. Client feedback is handled in accordance to our Quality Management System.

Royal Haskoning is partner in MVO Nederland, the Dutch CSR body. In this way we are sharing our knowledge and experience with respect to fleshing out the concept of corporate social responsibility.
