Social projects

Our knowledge and expertise is available not just for clients. We also advise or provide support in other ways to smaller and local social organizations through our social projects.

This initiative started as part of the celebration of our 125th anniversary in 2006, when Royal Haskoning carried out such projects for the first time from a number of offices in the Netherlands, Belgium and United Kingdom.

The social projects arise from the importance that Royal Haskoning attaches to social involvement in word and deed. We give employees the opportunity to implement projects they have proposed in the immediate vicinity. All activities take place within a radius of about 15 kilometres from the local office, as a result of which we become more involved in ‘the neighbourhood’ and the local community of which we are a part.

In 2007 our professionals worked on 25 Social Projects, in which they demonstrated their involvement in the area close to their office. On the one hand it’s about our knowledge and expertise that is now available for social organizations without big budgets. On the other hand it’s also about employees who roll up their sleeves in order to do voluntary work. In principle these are always once-only projects.
