Royal Haskoning office in New Orleans officially opened

15th March 2007

The Royal Haskoning US office in New Orleans opened officially in March of this year. At that time we had three consultants working in our Metairie office. We are proud to say that we have been able to expand our staff number to 6. We have been working with the US Army Corps of Engineers and their partners for over a year now. It has been of great value for all parties involved. Our local presence seems to be working for us, especially now that we have won (with the HDR consortium) the contract to investigate the system of polders and dikes in the Central Valley for the State of California.
Openingact

The company has already had a presence in New Orleans on a project basis in order to work on the contract for the coastal defence of Louisiana which Royal Haskoning won in April 2006. The projects in New Orleans are now sizeable enough to justify opening an office.

Royal Haskoning’s input has gradually increased since we won the contract, which is being carried out in collaboration with a number of American consultants. The firm’s most important contribution lies in the determination of the design heights for the dikes around the city.

The office is in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans. At first, the work will primarily concentrate on the coastal defence project in New Orleans. The aim is for the office to develop into a full center of competence in the field of flood protection.
