The increase in turnover comes almost solely from organic growth. The United Kingdom led the way with growth of 29%. In the Netherlands it was 15%.
The rise in turnover and net profit was offset partly by the drop in the value of Sterling against the Euro at the start of the year. If the impact of the exchange rate is factored out, total group turnover would have been up 22 % and net profit would have risen by 15%.
Royal Haskoning expects growth to continue during the second half of 2008. To some extent, however, this will depend on the group’s ability to recruit and retain qualified staff.
