Times Top 100

Royal Haskoning is very proud to announce that with our first application we have been voted one of the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to work for. This is a great accolade made even more important by the fact that it is our own staff members who have voted us into this illustrious group.

We put a great deal of effort into making sure we are continuously developing the working environment of our employees throughout the company. Our position in the Top 100 Companies reflects that our efforts are paying off and initiatives such as flexi-time, the bike scheme, health and dental insurance, and the sports and social club are going down extremely well!

When we ask our employees why working for Royal Haskoning is so different from other companies we have noticed that three key factors continue to play a huge part in keeping our staff so happy - the 3 P's: People, Progress and Projects. These very broad headings reflect Royal Haskoning's core values which focus on delivery and innovation for our clients, and support and development for our staff. This is underpinned by a very flat management structure which means that Directors are extremely accessible, and all members of staff play a key role in the development of the company rather than feeling like 'just another cog.'

People

We are a very friendly company with great emphasis placed on team building and sports and social activities. Sports and Social activities are actively supported and encouraged by the company, and activities are wide ranging across our 11 UK offices. We also take our corporate social responsibility very seriously and encourage our staff to get involved in the local community through our 'social projects' scheme, as well as going out to schools to talk about careers in Civil Engineering.

Progress

We believe that supporting our employees fully in their careers is vital to the future of our business. This is why we have specially designed training schemes to help them develop the key skills they need, and to get them on a fast track route to chartership. All staff have two annual reviews with line managers, one of which is solely to decide what kind of training and development each person requires for the year ahead.

Projects

Many consultancies boast of fantastic projects across the world and we are certainly no exception. We are currently working on some very exciting developments including ones in Nigeria, Rotterdam, Oman, Dubai as well as the ground breaking flood allieviation scheme we are currently delivering in Morayshire in Scotland. The thing which makes Royal Haskoning different is that we provide unique opportunities for staff at all levels to get involved in projects and take on as much responsibility as they feel comfortable with. There is plenty of room for staff to use their initiative and make a mark!

The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies survey is carried out by Best Companies who use a careful methodology to measure employee engagement with a firm, and their satisfaction at work. 77% of Royal Haskoning staff were randomly selected and sent surveys by Best Companies asking them to rate the company in relation to a variety of factors and it is these responses which have led to our success.
