Royal Haskoning offers a course focusing on application of RBCA Tool Kit V2 within UK regulatory context

03/10/2008

GSI Environmental Inc., in collaboration with Royal Haskoning is pleased to offer an intensive two-day course (December 9th and 10th 2008) focusing on the application of RBCA Tool Kit V2 within UK regulatory context for both human health and groundwater risk assessment.

This course is designed for environmental consultants and regulatory authorities who require a robust risk modeling tool for undertaking Generic and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment in a manner consistent with the Environment Agency’s CLEA Report and TOX Guidance Report for human health, and Remedial Target Methodology for groundwater risk assessment. The deterministic nature of the RBCA Tool Kit V2 combined with abundant functionalities and a user-friendly interface make it an ideal alternative tool to comply with CLEA Version 1.03 and Remedial Target Worksheets. Highlights of the course are summarized below:

- CLEA process review and risk assessment fundamentals
- Detailed coverage of recently released CLEA V1.03 beta including testing and validation using HERA-Soil model
- Building a UK-compliant chemical database for RBCA model
- Getting to know the improved RBCA Tool Kit v2.0 user interface
- Examining compatibility issues of RBCA with CLEA and the Remedial Target Methodology
- Practical sessions focusing on the use of RBCA Tool Kit v2.0 and HERA-Soil to derive generic assessment criteria
The course will be led by Dr. Mengfang Chen (Technical Director) and Alison Hallas (Senior Environmental Consultant) of Royal Haskoning Environment Division UK, and Ric Bowers (Senior Consulting Engineer) of GSI Environmental Inc.
