Climate change
Droughts, floods and storms - extreme weather that is occurring more and more frequently. Leaving aside the issue of whether the greenhouse effect is the cause, it remains a fact that climate change can have a dramatic impact on the living environment of many millions of people.
Policy makers need to tackle the causes and the effects. It does not really matter where results are achieved because climate change is quite literally a global problem. Energy efficient concepts and renewable energy sources deserve priority as alternatives to fossil fuels. At the same time there is a need for measures to combat drying out, erosion, high water levels and damage to property.
