Space is becoming progressively scarcer in densely populated areas. The supply is decreasing, while demand is growing. Over the next few years carefully considered choices have to be made in order to stimulate creative spatial change while protecting existing values at the same time.
If sustainable solutions are to be developed, first of all there needs to be a clampdown on the expansion and fragmentation of the demands on space in our living environment. Multiple and intensive use of space, economic competitiveness, social cohesion, cultural values and ecological vitality contribute to top quality spatial development.
