Competencies and Annual Competency Review
At Royal Haskoning we introduced a competency framework over 3 years ago using the Hay system. The framework allows us to use the fundamental research to set complimentary role levels and set of competencies for every individual who joins us.
As well as being rewarded in our Annual Competency review when you meet or exceed your specific set of competencies they are used to measure your progression, progress and career development.
Your competencies and role level will change with your career path to ensure that you always have new goals and challenges and a clear understanding of what is expected of you. Our system is also effective in allowing career paths to progress in specific directions ultimately with a view to entering Project Management, People Management, Market Management or Specialist roles.

Development Review
Each year you will have a ‘one to one’ development review which focuses on your development (this is separate and in addition to annual competency assessment). The development review focuses on your career, development and training needs and assists in ensuring you receive all the practical training and mentoring to further your career with Royal Haskoning.

Chartership
All graduates who join us are actively encouraged to commence one of our approved Chartership Programmes as soon as possible with a view to becoming chartered within 3-4 years. Whether you wish to follow ICE, CIWEM , IStruct E or some other relevant path we have the experience, knowledge and expertise to mentor and guide you.

Training
At Royal Haskoning we are proud to be able to offer over 70 training courses (this will increase soon) through our partnerships with tried and tested external training providers in addition to some of our own workshops. Training courses range from essential and specialised IT courses to specific technical or soft skills/practical courses that will continue to assist you in your role.

Company Wide Training and Development
At Royal Haskoning we also offer training and development at a company level across the boundaries or countries!
There are specific programmes targeted at different stages of your career which are set to identify talent and leaders in our business. Programmes include Potential Development Programme (PDP), Talent Development Programme (TDP) and Management Development Programme (MDP).
