Royal Haskoning Architects designs villa on the moon!
For the February issue of the popular-scientific Dutch Quest magazine Royal Haskoning Architects have given their vision on the design of a villa on the moon.
The villa is a spherical mini biotope on the moon. It is a metaphorical reference to the earth. The villa forms a contrast with the rough and dark moon landscape. A smooth and transparent sphere with a green living environment inside.

Royal Haskoning’s noise simulator Sensibel nominated for Dutch innovation award “Ei van Columbus”
Sensibel, the Royal Haskoning noise simulator, is one of three nominees for the innovation award “Ei van Columbus” in the Sustainable Services category. The ‘Ei van Columbus’ is the Dutch award for sustainable innovations. New initiatives with ecological, social and economical benefits are all potential winners. The ‘Ei van Columbus’ is presented every other year by five Ministries including the Ministry for Housing, Regional Development and the Environment.

Ernst Klamer received his PhD degree end of November at the faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning of the Eindhoven University of Technology. The subject of his thesis was ‘Influence of temperature on concrete beams strengthened in flexure with CFRP’.

Amsterdam regional dyke improvement entrusted to Royal Haskoning and Witteveen+Bos
Working in partnership, Royal Haskoning and Witteveen+Bos have signed two framework contracts with Waternet. The agreements concern the upgrading of dams in Amsterdam and the surrounding region to the desired safety level. The target completion date is 2015.
