Royal Haskoning Industrial Installations designs and implements various types of materials handling projects including grains, derivatives, fertilisers, ore, coal, biomass, etc. Our "roots" are the handling and storage of grains and derivatives since our Advisory Group originates (1973) from the largest stevedore in the Port of Rotterdam. As such we have gained much know how and experience in this field since we have been involved in many projects including research and development, feasibility studies, design, preparation of tender documents, procurement and supervision of construction. As from 1973 we have been involved in the design and implementation of port, river and inland terminals grain silos, bulk flatstores, storage yard, etc. around the world.

Royal Haskoning Industrial Installations has a long term track record on liquid bulk terminals and can offer full problem ownership together with colleagues from environmental and maritime divisions from feasibility studies up to terminal start up. In cooperation with our clients our dedicated consulting engineers, many of which specially trained in container handling technology, designed, developed and assisted during the implementation of their terminals worldwide, not only through this on-the-job experience but also through participation in prestigious R&D and innovation programs, our container handling knowledge is on world leading level.
Waste Handling & Storage
Royal Haskoning is involved in every aspect of the collection, transportation and processing of household, industrial and chemical waste. The company provides expertise in the disposal of specific waste materials, such as scrap metals, hospital waste and sludge from sewage treatment plants. Royal Haskoning is able to execute total waste management programs as well as specific projects such as in the field of reuse, recycling, composting, digestion, incineration with heat recovery (‘waste to energy’), flue gas cleaning and controlled tipping (landfill) of residue.
