SPECS goes on as CMT, the Chemicals Management Tool to manage your REACH requirements CMT is a data application to support companies to better organize the information of their chemicals to match with legal requirements. Especially with the new REACH
requirements coming up, it becomes important to know what substances are in what chemical products and to have the core data available in one data source.
A chemical company mostly knows what products are bought and/or produced (including yearly volumes), but has at this moment no procedures and information systems implemented to identify for REACH what unique substances are being brought on the EU market and moreover at what volumes (extracted from the related product volumes). This is where CMT helps out. CMT maintains the core product (composition) and substance information in one central database and this information can be applied for various purposes (REACH, PS, GAM and Labeling). Thus the system is flexible to cope with changing regulations.
