In order to check on the possibilities of recycling and saving water research was carried out at 13 different work units at Corus IJmuiden.

Water balances were drawn up for each work unit by means of brain storming sessions, interviews and inventories. The promising savings options were selected based on the available data and after testing at the units.

The combination of knowledge and water management and the contribution from the production environment led to the selection of realistic options.
