NAM is supported in updating its environmental management system conform the new European organisation and requirements of ISO 14001 (2004).
Various experts from Royal Haskoning worked on this project.
Result: ISO 14001 certification for NAM.
NAM operates since 1998 a certified Environmental Management System (EMS). Royal Haskoning has been involved in development and implementation of this system.
Because of the new European organisation that NAM is part of and because new requirements of ISO 14001 (2004), the EMS needed an overall update. Royal Haskoning was asked to support in the final stages on the following subjects:
Internal audits
An international registered auditor (IEMA) from Royal Haskoning performed internal audits on:
• the documentation of the EMS;
• compliance on significant environmental aspect.
Reported findings have been addressed by NAM prior to the certification audit.
Register of legal requirements
One important aspect in an EMS is the identification of legal requirements. An expert linked to the
legal documentation centre of Royal Haskoning documented all legal requirements for NAM (all activities, both onshore and off-shore).
Training NAM staff
An experienced trainer from Royal Haskoning and HSE staff from NAM developed awareness sessions to explain the EMS, its goals and objectives. Royal Haskoning delivered the sessions to management, staff, offshore rigs and contractors.
Project was completed in February 2006. Certification audit resulted in an ISO 14001 certification for NAM.
