At the end of 2004 Royal Haskoning started on the conceptual design of a powder-coating plant for Akzo Nobel in Orekhovo Zuevo, 130 kilometres east of Moscow.

In 2005 work began on the required documents for the building permit application and a detailed design, based on Russian standards and regulations. In August 2005 Akzo Nobel, advised by Royal Haskoning, selected the contractor for the building works on the basis of the detailed design.

Royal Haskoning will supervise the construction works so that the production site can be completed on time and within budget. Akzo Nobel expects to be able to start production in mid 2006.
