KAO runs a Tertiary Amine Production plant which needs to be extended by a green field project in an extreme short period.

The scope included over 100 equipment items including, reactor, columns, tanks, agitators, hot oil furnace, pumps and vessels. With a conventional schedule the required completion date would not have been achieved. Making TAP-2 an intelligent copy of TAP-1 and starting the construction preparations, selection of contractors and procurement of materials as far as possible in parallel with the detailed engineering and design, made it possible to build the new plant in record time of 11 months. As a result of this strategy and intensive construction supervision the project was completed on schedule and within budget, and the production was within specification immediately after the start-up.
