The SEGMEER consortium, of which Royal Haskoning is a partner, was commissioned by the Water Board of Delfland in The Netherlands to execute an advisory project for transport systems for wastewater.
A new wastewater purification system is to be built in the district of The Hague. For that purpose, the existing transmission system has to be adjusted and extended.

The project consists of:
• The renovation of 9 sewage pumping-stations, of which the capacities vary from 200 m3/h to 52.000 m3/h;
• The development of 7 new sewage pumping-stations, of which the capacities vary from 840 m3/h to 5.300 m3/h;
• The placement of 52-km long wastewater conveyor pipelines, with diameters varying from 400 mm to 2000 mm. Approximately 12-km will be installed through the use of drilling techniques.
