Urban development & design 
For us the design process is a hunt for the essence in urban development. All our design decisions are focused on the development of core qualities. The result is a design with its own character and a recognizable identity, with strong emphasis, for example, on the physical environment or on the essence of the town in a broader sense. Technological diversity is key in many designs. This comes about as a result of teamwork within Royal Haskoning. The result is captured in an appealing basic image.

Site development
When an area is being developed, measures have to be taken with regard to water management, the access infrastructure and preparing the site for building and occupancy. Royal Haskoning brings this knowledge in from our regional offices throughout the country. We live and work just round the corner and we know exactly how things are around the site. 
 
Business parks
We offer a thorough interdisciplinary approach to the development of new business parks and the restructuring of existing ones. We can provide research and advice as well as project management. Our strategies for new business partks are always centred around market opportunities; for existing parks we specifically adopt an entrepreneurially targeted approach. 
  
Urban water management
Water in the town has specific areas of attention including water quality, flooding, use of water and perception of surface water bodies. We believe that water plays a key role in achieving a sustainable environment in the town. Royal Haskoning has set up a special Internet site, www.waterindestad.info, with useful tips and information on the theme of ‘urban water’.

Public areas
Royal Haskoning can support local authorities, housing corporations and park managers in all sorts of ways in the high-quality, sustainable and safe management of public space. As well as putting together quality plans and illustrated specifications we look after communication with local people and businesses, harmonisation with the surroundings, inspections, management, maintenance planning, park management and other alternative forms of management.

Royal Haskoning has wide experience in drawing up zoning plans in accordance with the IMRO.
