The Association of Cambodian Local Economic Development Agencies (ACLEDA) Bank started 12 years ago as an NGO providing micro-credit to improve the living standards of the poor by promoting and supporting small-scale economic activites ranging from self employment and small business projects to medium sized enterprises.

In 2000, ACLEDA transformed itself into a commercial bank and is now one of the largest banks in Cambodia, with 9 provincial branches, 6 district offices and numerous small offices. ACLEDA’s existing head office on Mao Tse Tung Boulevard in Phnom Penh, is getting too small and no longer reflects the current image of the bank. This prompted ACLEDA to move to a new location on Monivong Boulevard, Phnom Penh’s main business street. Chuchawal-De Weger, in cooperation with Royal Haskoning Cambodia, was selected to provide full design, design support during construction, and construction management services for the new headquarters building.
