In this development vision for the expansion of De Hemmen business park to the west of Sneek, a landscaped structure is being developed that guarantees the quality of the business park for the long term.

The developed structure of the landscape is in keeping with the existing De Hemmen 1 business park and takes advantage of the repositioning of the A7 in a southerly direction and the making of a new town exit for Sneek.
The development vision is based on fitting in with the landscape, a good association with the town, the creation of an individual identity both internally and externally, and intensive use of space.

Fitting in to the existing landscape in the spatial structure of De Hemmen is being achieved by dikes, mounds, inclines and planting at different heights. Where possible existing farmhouses and watercourses are being preserved and incorporated.

The A7 is an independent entity and forms no part of the town ring road. De Hemmen will therefore not be a business park that fronts on to the motorway with industrial buildings, but will have its own landscape identity both internally and externally.
For this purpose a uniform green ‘shutter’ has been devised on the north side of the A7 that fits in with the characteristics of the landscape, with the businesses being visible behind it.
The new motorway exit to the town also has an identity of its own as an important access to the town of Sneek, with a spacious and green profile. Here the business park expressly presents itself to the road. There are several viewpoints on the slip road.

The central ‘water axis’ in De Hemmen 1 is being repeated in De Hemmen 2, and as a result continuity in a spatial and functional sense is guaranteed.
