In October 2005 a delegation of Royal Haskoning, existing of two landscape architects, a communication expert, a water expert and a cost calculator for WASMO (India, Gujarat, Gandhinagar), made a concept design for a Water Education Park.

The outcome has been a four hectare Theme Park inside an existing Nature Park on the shores of a dry river.

The Water Park is situated in an existing park in such a way that use can be made of the present natural water flows (which are only filled in the raining period), roads, the nearness of several already situated themes such as a zoo, botanical gardens and a camping site.

In the Water Education Park an interactive format is used to learn the visitor about the value, special nature and shortage of water and the many ways in which one can be conscientious with water.

The Design
The park is designed around a central park from which the several pavilions can be reached. There are five different theme pavilions which can be visited either as a whole or separately:

1. The water cycle
2. Water and landscape
3. Sources and functions of water
4. Water in daily life
5. Water experience (do it yourself experiments and tests)
