Royal Haskoning carried out all the works for the Geestmerambacht effluent pumping station from design to completion.

The effluent pumping station forms part of the Geestmerambacht sewage water treatment plant in the district of Wamenhuizen, but it can be considered as a polder pumping station.
 
The effluent ditch from the sewage water treatment plant flows out near to the pumping station. This pushes the waste water straight through a 1500 mm concrete high-pressure tube / shaft about 30 meters long to the North Holland canal.

The effluent pumping station has three dry pumps and two shaft pumps.
