We prepared an Environmental Management Plan for the Paragon Distribution Center with a focus on an independent water supply system, the optimisation of the drainage and wastewater treatment and waste management.

Chuchawal De Weger International Ltd (a Royal Haskoning company) prepared the Environmental Management plan for the Distribution Center including the following elements: 
 

• Independent water supply system; based on rainwater collection from the warehouse roof and storage in a reservoir to overcome the dry season. Since the groundwater is brackish and the irrigation water is only limited available, this alternative with negligible impacts for the surrounding agricultural community was chosen.
  
  
• Optimisation drainage & wastewater treatment; the draft design was slightly modified in order to separate various water streams and to ensure that the run off and wastewater will not affect the receiving surface water, which is used for irrigation purposes. 
  
  
• Waste management; the expected waste streams from the warehouse, repackaging and office activities were quantified. An on-site waste center is proposed for the temporary storage and sorting of recyclable and reusable waste and small quantities of hazardous waste.
