We take a competency-based approach to learning and development for all levels of employees. You will have an annual development review with your manager, which leads to a personal development plan. Your manager is available to provide support and guidance and to help decide the best way to meet your development needs. This might be through formal training, new qualifications, coaching, mentoring, secondments or overseas assignments. Although technical learning is essential, for truly rounded professionals, we also recognize the importance of developing softer skills, for example, communication skills, interpersonal skills, personal confidence and negotiation. By developing you, we are developing our business; we are securing your future and ours. Two major training programmes are designed to help us with this. Our Management Development Programme aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of our existing managers and our Talent Development Programme is designed to prepare the future leaders of our business.
