Job description


You will act as (Junior) Maritime Designer on a range of projects principally relating to the field of maritime planning and engineering. You will be part of a design team and contribute to the delivery of maritime designs within programme and budget constraints. More specifically you will:

• Contribute to engineering design calculations, engineering design details and engineering reports for a range of projects relating to the field of maritime engineering.
• Contribute to the production of technical, commercial and contractual documents for procurement of engineering and / or construction projects.
• Contribute to (pre)feasibility and port planning studies.
• Promote and maintain satisfactory Client relationships and be responsible for retention of business with specific Client bodies.
• Contribute to the development of the Client base through the production of proposals and interaction with Clients.
• Participate in the development of new Client bases.
• Liaise with other divisions of the Royal Haskoning organisation.
• Provide advice and expertise to more junior staff.
• Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.

Profile

• You are aware of and able to work within the sensitive political and social context in which large maritime projects take place.

Your qualifications and experience
• You have gained up to 10 years experience in the design and planning of (large) maritime structures, preferably while working for a consultancy firm, and are familiar with achieving the right balance between the financial, technical and time aspects in a project.
• (Academic) degree in (Civil) Engineering.
• Mastery of the English language. Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian language skills would be an advantage.
