The waste incineration plant of the NV Huisvuilcentrale N-H (HVC) at Alkmaar was in 1995 operational and has three incineration lines. Royal Haskoning was in the period 1992 until 1995 responsible for the architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical engineering for all buildings and supporting structures. With these three lines the HVC processes approximately 450.000 ton waste per year. In 2002 Royal Haskoning started the engineering for the extension of the plant with a 4th production line with a capacity of 150.000 ton per year. The extension is operational since the end of 2004.
