The energy market is changing: TenneT, the owner of the Dutch electricity grid, contributes to the reliability of the country's electricity supply and the transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
TenneT plays an active role in the development of the north-west European energy market by means of onshore and offshore interconnectors as well as links to the UK and Denmark.
In the Netherlands, large investments will be made in wind energy in the coming years and decentralised power generation is taking off.

These developments are having an effect on the electricity grid and call for a future-proof network. The upgrade of the 380 kV grid in central and western Netherlands forms one of the main pillars of the TenneT network plan up to the year 2030.

The Randstad 380kV project involves the construction of a number of 380kV high-voltage connections, the combining of a number of existing 150kV high-voltage connections and the construction of several new high-voltage stations in heavily populated areas. This will guarantee the supply of electricity to the Randstad conurbation in the years to come.

In this complex environment, Royal Haskoning is providing management for permitting and environmental procedures for the Randstad 380 kV project.
