Royal Haskoning expands in Rotterdam
12-08-2010
At the beginning of August, VHP’s architects, landscape architects and urban designers relocated, at the same time as the engineers of Royal Haskoning Dordtse Engineering, to the Royal Haskoning offices at George Hintzenweg 85 in Rotterdam. The fact that both groups of employees have now taken up residence with the other divisions of Royal Haskoning in the Lotus complex will lead to a creative cross-fertilisation, resulting in even more special and attractive projects in many different areas for clients.
Royal Haskoning Rotterdam now has over 700 employees in total, making it the largest firm of its kind in the region. All divisions are represented here and offer the full range of multidisciplinary services to the local, national and international market. The company makes an important contribution to the strengthening of the knowledge economy by developing innovative solutions for countless social challenges in a wide variety of fields.

By combining the knowledge and skills of the architects of VHP and the engineers of Royal Haskoning Dordtse Engineering with other disciplines at Royal Haskoning’s offices in Rotterdam, the company has taken yet another step in improving the service it offers its clients still further. Bundling existing expertise in the areas of environment, ecology, civil engineering, infrastructure and technical processes has considerably improved its ability to respond to its clients.

The engineers of Royal Haskoning Dordtse Engineering engineers have built up an impressive record of service, comprising projects in fields including the chemical, oil and gas industries. At present they are putting the finishing touches to the construction of a catalyst factory for SASOL in South Africa.

VHP’s architects, landscape architects and urban designers, who have been honoured with several national and international awards, are renowned on the market for their creative designs for town centres, residential and commercial buildings and public spaces. So for example, together with other parties, including the Rijnmond Environmental Department, VHP has conducted a study into the possibilities of CO2-smart urban development in the Maashaven and Rijnhaven areas of Rotterdam.
