Royal Haskoningdhv wins Assignment for Indonesia's Largest Port Extension
Royal HaskoningDHV has won the USD multi-million contract to supervise the construction of the extension of the main port of Jakarta, Tanjung Priok. The contract is part of the North Kalibaru Terminal Development and the first phase includes the development of a new 4.5 million TEUs container terminal allowing the economic development of Indonesia to continue. Royal HaskoningDHV polder plan protects people in Senegal
Rapid proliferation of aquatic plants threatens living environment of riverbank dwellers

International consultancy, engineering and project management service provider Royal HaskoningDHV has produced a master plan to develop the Senegal River delta and is designing eight polders as a pilot project in the area. The delta is plagued by Typha, an aquatic plant that grows abundantly in the area. The plant’s proliferation limits water access for the population, reduces the potential for agriculture and increases the occurrence of diseases like bilharzia (also known as schistosomiasis) and malaria. The polders will allow intensive usability of the land in the near future and deny the Typha further space for growth. Read more

Last Monday, April 22th, 15 key stakeholders signed an agreement for a joint approach towards a sustainable heating and cooling strategy for the city of Rotterdam in 2030. This is the result of a dialogue between housing corporations, real estate developers, energy companies and governmental organisations of the last 7 months. Dutch Aviation Solutions Russia (DASR), a collaboration of leading Dutch aviation firms, today signed a partnership agreement with the International Airports Association Russia (IAA). In preparation of the 2018 World Cup, Russian airports are being privatized and modernized at a rapid speed. The agreement raises the profile of Dutch aviation among Russian airport owners. The document is signed by Royal HaskoningDHV subsidiary NACO (Netherlands Airport Consultants), in the presence of Dutch Foreign Trade and Development Minister Lilianne Ploumen and Russian Deputy Prime minister Arkady Dvorkovich. Dutch water experts present Ho Chi Minh City flood defence plan
Dutch consultancy and engineering firm Royal HaskoningDHV and knowledge institute Deltares have revealed details of the Flood and Inundation Management Project for Ho Chi Minh City. The concept is that the city itself will be protected by dikes but controlled flooding will be permitted in outlying areas. In the first instance, a small ring-dike will be constructed around the city centre to provide adequate flood defences until 2025. It will then be possible to extend and raise this barrier if sea levels continue to rise. The project has a total contract value of 1.5 million euros, which is to be co-funded by the Netherlands and Vietnam. Read more

Mozambique interested in Dutch flood risk management projects
A high level delegation from Mozambique is in the Netherlands to discuss flood risk management practices and further co-operation. On 20 March Francisco Pereira (Deputy Minister of Public Works and Housing), and Suzana Saranga (Head of the National Water Directorate) met Royal HaskoningDHV's experts Katheleen Poels, Michel Tonneijck and Winfried Pietersen.
They discussed topics like Dutch Room-for-the-River concepts, impacts of (physical) interventions, safety standards, inspections, long term scenarios, decision making processes and stakeholder management. Read more
