Hazard Classifications
To determine whether a product is hazardous, today this product must be classified according to European regulations in symbols, R-phrases and S-phrases.
Since January 20th a new classification system came into force in the European union: the Global Hamonised System (GHS). GHS aims to level classifications in the European union with those in other areas such as New Zealand and Korea. Additional transport classification is incorporated.
Royal Haskoning can advice you on classification under both regulations.

In both regulations criteria for classification are based on:
  • physical-chemical characteristics
  • toxicological characteristics
  • ecotoxicological characteristics

Classifications for preparations are determined through legally required calculations based on the formulation of your product.

Royal Haskoning can review and assess individual products or your product database based on the criteria and calculations. Your products are then provided with the correct classification.
